ABOUT THE COURSE

Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control is for electricians who desire to upskill and learn more about instrumentation and work in the Process Industry such as Mining, Oil and Gas Manufacturing, Food Industry etc..

Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain systems and devices for measurement and recording of physical/chemical phenomenon and related process control.

On completion of this course, you will receive a Nationally recognised qualification.

Future Pathways include UEE50211 – Diploma of Electrical and Instrumentation

There are typically 2 ways to enroll into this course. First method is for school leavers who wish to enroll into this course as apprentices.

NB : This instrumentation course requires certain physical competencies that a wheelchair user or someone with significant physical disabilities simply may not be able to fulfill so please check with admin before enrolment.

The course duration will vary with experience and successful result of RPL.

You will need to bring :

  • A wired headset or headphones
  • A notepad
  • A pen

You will also need to have an email address, a laptop and a reliable internet connection in order to complete the online theory part of the course.

Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times when you are on the premises.

Theory : 50% of the course, can be completed online from home

Practical : 50% of the course, to be completed in the office for hands on experience with the equipment

The course is organized into the following themes : Instrumentation Theory lectures | Electrical Instrumentation Assessments | Internet research | Observation | Face to face | Instrumentation and Control Practical tasks | Group work | Activities in a simulated work environment (as per Training Package Requirements)

Each student’s achievement of each Instrumentation unit of competency within the qualification is assessed by their completion of written, practical tests, assignments and the observation of the competency in practical projects, in varying contexts on a number of occasions.
