ABOUT THE COURSE
Test and Tag is used to check the safety of electrical appliances. This is a safety requirement and testing and tagging equipment should be conducted on a regular basis.
This Test and Tag Course Online is the perfect little short course that will give you the opportunity to work with the portable apparatus tester, utilizing test results to establish the safety status, identifying safe and unsafe cords and apparatus, applying appropriate tagging, documenting testing activities and handling unplanned events.
This Test and Tag Course Online gives you real experience of testing & tagging. In this course you will get real experience in the workshop testing & tagging equipment which actually you are going to test more often.
The course meets the requirements of both the Australian Standards and the WHS Regulations Code of Practice ‘Managing Electrical Risks in the Workplace’ which states inspection and testing of electrical equipment should only be carried out by a competent person who has the relevant knowledge, skills and test instruments to carry out the relevant inspection and testing.
This online course is available for people who own or have access to a Metrel 3309 or a Seaward 125EL PAT Tester.
You also need to have access to a computer and internet with Skype installed on it as well as a device that can record video.
There are no other entry requirements to this qualification. It is advised to have a moderate level of language,literacy and numeracy to undertake this course. An assessment will determine support needs.
You will need to have access to basic home appliances like a fridge, microwave, kettle to practise testing and tagging.
This course is 100% online. Once your enrolment is complete you will get access to our Elearning platform where you can access the resources, watch the videos and complete the assessments at your own pace.
For the practical component you will need to test basic appliances that can be found in a home (eg. fridge, microwave, kettle or chargers)
There will also be a practicals test carried out through Skype by the trainer or through a video that you will need to record yourself. Detailed instructions will be provided on how to record the video and what to do.
You can complete this course within 1 to 3 days depending on your abilities and prior knowledge. The course is online and self paced so you can make your own schedule.
