  • You will first get enrolled into our Basic and Advanced PLC courses as well as our HMI SCADA course valued at $2,550.
  • Then you will be able to do instrumentation and automation practicals which will enable you to connect the instruments to the PLC-SCADA and test them
  • After this you will be able to practise while you work alongside our senior Electricians, Electrical Engineers and Trainers for up to 3 months and have access to our facilities and resources for real-world experience.

20 hours a week for 3 months to get the internship certificate

 

  1. Advanced PLC and Industrial Automation:

In this module the participant will learn advanced programming and diagnostic skills associated with medium to high-level programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This includes analogue and word manipulation.

  • Understanding the basics of control system and PLC processors.
  • Understanding how to use ladder logic programming.
  • Use PLC hardware such as I/O modules.
  • Be able to make design, maintenance and troubleshooting considerations.
  • Understand fault finding techniques.
  • Communicate across networks.
  • Introduction to PLC and industrial control system.
  • Programming the PLC, a detailed explanation of different input/output ladder logic instructions.
  • Digital and Analog modules wiring and interfacing.
  • Designing a control system with various control instruments, including valves, pressure switches, transmitters.
  1. Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory control and Data acquisition (SCADA):

This unit covers the setting up and configuring of human machine interface and industrial networks for process control systems to meet performance standards.

  • The adoption of process control schemes that meet safety and process requirements.
  • Setting up communication between HMI and PLC’s.
  • Understanding PLC memory mapping for connected control instruments.
  • Creating tags for control instruments according to PLC’s memory mapping.
  • Setting up different animations for user interface and information display.
  • Designing a complete HMI for a water transfer between tanks.
  1. Electrical Instrumentation

The following four modules will give an understanding of Calibration and Commissioning on pressure transmitters for various process variables such as Pressure, Level, Flow and Temperature.

Pressure:

This module includes but not limited to:

  • Calibration commissioning and interfacing of differential pressure transmitters to PLCs and SCADA
  • Calibration commissioning and interfacing of pressure switches to PLCs and SCADA
  • Calibration commissioning and interfacing of pressure gauges to PLCs and SCADA

 

Level:

This module includes but not limited to:

  • Introduction of different sensors to measure level of liquids and solids in a container.
  • Calibration commissioning and interfacing of Radar and Differential pressure transmitters to measure level of liquids in a container.
  • Calibration of differential pressure transmitter to measure level in various configurations

Flow:

This module includes but not limited to:

  • This module includes types, selection criteria, and operating principles regarding flow instruments that are frequently used for oil and gas production.
  • Use of Differential pressure transmitter to measure Flow rate of the process.
  • Calibrating a DPT to measure flow of the process.
  • Differential pressure flow creating devices such as orifice plates, venture tubes, pitot tubes, etc.

 

Temperature:

This module includes but not limited to:

  • Introduction to temperature sensing devices such as RTD’s and thermocouples.
  • Different types and working principle of RTD’s and thermocouples.
  • Calibration commissioning and interfacing of temperature transmitters for RTD’s and thermocouples.
  • Use of RTD and Thermocouple simulators.

 

  1. Industrial Networks and Communication:

 

An industrial network is a powerful means for information and data exchange among various industrial devices on the network. In this module student will learn about industrial networks including:

 

  • Profibus, modbus, etc..
  • Understanding Modbus devices and memory mapping.
  • Designing a Modbus network using PLC.
  • Inter-controller communication over ethernet.

 

  1. VFD and PID Controllers:
  • VFD Installation and programming.
  • Setting VFD over network and PLC Control.
  • PID controllers and Industrial control

 

 

 

 

 

After completion you will receive : 

  • A Nationally recognised statement of attainment for UEENEEI150A Basic PLC and UEENEEI151A Advanced PLC
  • A statement of completion for HMI and SCADA 
  • A certificate of internship

This internship program is designed for Engineers and Technicians who want to upskill and get experience in Australia. 

You'll need a valid ID to enrol into this program. 

You will need to bring :

  • A wired headset or headphones
  • A laptop

Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times when you are on the premises.

You can start on the first week of every month.  This is a self-paced internship.
